Coronavirus (COVID-19) And Your Wedding

The past few days I’ve been sitting here eyes glued to the news just stunned at what is happening. The coronavirus is having a serious impact on everyone’s lives. That has included weddings and many of my brides and grooms having to postpone their special day. My heart is just freaking HURTING for the couples and my friends in the wedding industry right now.

I’ve had a range of emotions and have ended up procrastinating and getting nothing done. Do I continue on in my business as usual with posting and sharing photos? But then I feel like I’m being insensitive to my clients or any bride and groom who are having to postpone their wedding day.

I know that just because there is this coronavirus going around doesn’t mean you don’t want to marry your fiancé anymore!

So I’ve decided all I can do at this moment is to let my clients or future clients know you have options and hope this brings some peace to your minds.

The First Option is to reduce your guest count to whatever the recommendation is at the time. You can still get married on your day, if your venue is outdoor this makes this option work. You can live stream your day to those who can’t make it to family back home and this can be a way to not leave anyone out who can’t travel. If you are one of my couples, I can help you set that up. I know some venues are being forced to cancel on you. But let’s get creative here, have could have your wedding on the beach or in the bush.

You can reschedule your wedding to a later date at no extra cost. If it’s possible to coordinate with all of your vendors. This also applies if your venue wants or is being forced to cancel on you. This way you won’t lose retainers you’ve paid and still get to have the wedding you’ve always dreamed of with everyone you wanted to have in person.

Or you could opt to elope on your wedding date and have a celebration reception at a later time. Head to someplace amazing outside and celebrate your day just the two of you or with a very small amount of closest family and friends! I’m happy to put together a beautiful slide show video that you could share at your later celebration.

I know this is a stressful time, but however I can help support the two of you and your special wedding day I will. Don’t hesitate to reach out. Stay safe.
