Picture Perfect Practice | Meghann Maguire Photography

Well I'm back with picture perfect practice. I only just made it. Thanks to Jade for the accountability! While shooting this month I find that I naturally shoot with a lot of negative space and don't look out for different ways to put balance into my images. I think thats whats really great about doing little projects like this, it gets you thinking and trying other compositions while shooting. I get so stuck in doing the same things.

Jade my partner in crime has a wonderful blog post here explaining what we were doing this month.

The kids were trying on their costumes for book week when I noticed the cool shadow in the back ground. I played around so I good a nice balance. Balancing with the shadow.

Here is a good example of moving yourself just slightly to get more of a balance. There's no real balance going on in this picture. Take a look at the next image.

Just by moving myself to the left, I was able to get a balance with the mushrooms and from the top and bottom edges.

This was such a cute moment, my husband showing the kids how we used to record music. I was trying to balance with the two tapes in the same thirds.

Sunset cousins lifestyle session | Launceston photographer

I love when clients come to me for a special session like this. They wanted a photo done of the cousins together to give as a wedding anniversary present to their parents. Had to keep this one quiet for awhile, but heard back they loved their gift.

This was the sweetest little session held at sunset, to give that beautiful glow. Here are a few of my favourites from our sunset cousin lifestyle session.

Catching up on my blogs. So I'm sharing another couples session that I did recently.

We battled with the rain and had already canceled this session once. But we were already on location when it started to drizzle, what's a little rain going to hurt, so off we went. I had not been to Lillydale falls in awhile and to my surprise it was busy, the waterfall had lots of water, we could hardy hear each other or get into a position to get a good shot of the waterfall in the background. I worked with it and love the images I got from this romantic gloomy day.

I loved getting to know these two. How wonderful they're getting married on their 10 year anniversary.

This is the kind words they had to say about their session with me.

"Thank you so much! I love so many of the photos! You are wonderful we had a great time with you. You made us both feel very comfortable and confident and I love that you captured us so well."

Cute couple alert.

This year I decided to include complimentary couple session with all weddings booked. Ive been having so much fun doing these.

I really find that these session are a great way to get to know each other before the wedding day. I get to hear how they met, how he proposed, I get to see how they are together and if they have a good and a bad side. Also they get to use the images for save the date or wedding invites.

This couple were so cute together, lots of giggling and nothing but love for each other. They were a dream to work with.

I'm looking forward to shooting their wedding in Feb. So keep an eye out.
