7 Perfect Elopement Locations Across Tasmania

Tasmania is spoilt for choice when it comes to spectacular elopement locations.

Are you looking for a coastal retreat? A rugged mountain range? Or perhaps a romantic waterfall?

The options are almost endless.

So to make things easier, I’ve put together a list of my favourite Tasmanian locations.

1.  Thalia Haven

Tucked away along Tasmania’s wild East Coast, and just an hour from Hobart airport is Thalia Haven.

Set on a 130-acre wooded peninsula, it offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and sustainable living.

Accommodation is available for up to eight guests in an ancient-stone residence. Enjoy the stunning water views of Great Oyster Bay, and your own exclusive beach right on your doorstep.

If you’re looking for a private oasis for your elopement, then Thalia Haven will tick all the boxes.

2.  Cradle Mountain

It’s easy to see why Cradle Mountain is one of the most amazing places in Tasmania to elope.

The iconic mountain sits proudly amongst the breathtaking landscapes of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Incredible scenic beauty at every turn.

And from its ancient rainforests and glacial lakes to its snow-covered peaks, Cradle Mountain offers endless options for elopement locations.

With plenty of fantastic accommodation venues close by, what could be more Tasmanian than an elopement at Cradle Mountain?

3.  Eagles Nest Retreat

There are three secluded boutique properties that make up Eagles Nest Retreat. Each unique, with their own signature design and luxury features. And each exclusively yours.

These romantic ‘Nests’ are hidden away alongside the majestic Mount Roland and take in the exquisite rural landscape. Perfect if you’re considering a mountain-top or adventure elopement.

Eagles Nest Retreat, complete with deluxe spas both indoors and out, has been designed with your relaxation and wellness in mind.

The options are endless for planning the intimate elopement of your dreams. And why not stay on for your honeymoon too?

4.  Freycinet Lodge

Imagine eloping alongside the crystal-clear waters and stunning granite mountain ranges of Freycinet National Park.

One thing is for sure: an elopement at Freycinet Lodge will not disappoint.

You won’t even need to travel to your wedding location. All the natural beauty of the Tasmanian wilderness is right on your doorstep.

There are plenty of accommodation options available at Freycinet Lodge. And with so much to explore across the Freycinet Peninsula, you can enjoy your elopement AND honeymoon all in one place.

5.  The Keep

Are you looking for a clifftop location for your elopement? Then look no further than The Keep, where romance meets adventure.

The luxuriously appointed venue is set atop a 650-metre rocky pinnacle and offers incredible 360-degree views of the eastern and northern Tasmanian coastline.

Accommodation is available for two people only. Which means you’ll enjoy absolute privacy without sacrificing the magnificent views.

The Keep has been designed for reconnection, relaxation and rejuvenation. The perfect location for your Tasmanian elopement.

What more could you ask for?

6.  Pump House

The Pump House is a private little haven, nestled in some of the most dramatic landscape that Tasmania has to offer.

The unique venue offers a range of striking locations for your elopement ceremony, photographs, and reception.

What’s more, you can enjoy exclusive use of the entire property over a full weekend.

Located alongside the picturesque Lake St Clair, the Pump House can accommodate up to 38 guests.

Packages for elopements and micro weddings are also available.

7.  Greens Beach

If you’re looking for a secluded beach location for your elopement, Greens Beach could be the best-kept secret you need to hear about.

This spectacular beach sits north-west of Launceston and at the mouth of the Tamar River. And boasts a stunning backdrop of the Narawntapu National Park, with its striking rocky cliffs.

Greens Beach offers a variety of private beach locations for your elopement.

Plus there are also plenty of local accommodation options available through Airbnb.

And if thats not enough...

Here’s one more spectacular gem, hidden well away in a ruggedly beautiful part of Tasmania, to put on your list:

8.  Captains Rest

Just outside of Strahan, on Tasmania’s fascinating West Coast, Captains Rest perches right on the edge of Lettes Bay.

This beautiful, bespoke cottage has so much to offer, no matter which season you’re planning your elopement.
